in santa rosa, 92 in oakland, 90 in redwood city that is downright hot. what's good, there's no wind really. no offshore wind. no strong winds because this would be a red flag warning day. these numbers are huge and this is the time of year we're worried about. just like yesterday. almost a repeat of yesterday and that we're not seeing those strong winds. the fog tomorrow morning then tries to push in. you know i think it'll be there i'm not so sure it's going to be there. the model has it right along the coast. i think most likely by lunchtime or 2:00 you will feel the winds kick in. if you're in the avenues, you get the dry air and warm air. all of a sudden you smell the sea breeze. you can even see a rock out there by the cliff house when the winds shift. that's what's going to happen tomorrow morning when the wind shifts. so that will bring cooler weather. temperatures tomorrow at san francisco, they can drop 20 degrees from where they were today. i have specifics on your forecast. the five day forecast with your weekend in view. back here at 5:45. >> thank you, bill. >>> fall out into
there san francisco 59. about 58 currently through santa rosa. and then as we set the clock ahead to about 9:00 a.m. we're going to start to see some of the 60 indicated by the green color by noontime. ash highs look like we're gong to be topping out at 60s for the coast as well. 70s and maybe some 80s and then temperatures dipping down to about 50s by about 8:00 this evening. sticking to the afternoon highs take a look at them. low 70s, up. 80s on the board through places like antioch as well as liver moore. and pittsburgh, upper 60s for al immediate da. afternoon about mid-60s for downtown san francisco. low 60s for ocean beach and a mix of low to mid-70s. 74 degrees santa rosa and 76 for napa this afternoon as we take a look at seven day around the bay showing us we're doing to continue to feel that cool down into the weekend. when monday rolls around we do have a chance of showers in the forecast. time right now it's 4:48 let's get a check on your traffic. >> don't have any hot spots, it's really the perfect time to leave your house because it's quiet out there no problems on the freeway

line again today at santa rosa memorial hospital. nurses are angry at a hospital wants them to pay more for their health coverage and take lower pay for some shifts. hospital administrators say they are already anticipating financial shortfalls when the affordable care act goes into effect in 2014. the nurses planned a two day strike but the hospital had to fire replacement nurses for four days so the regular nurses will not be back on their jobs until saturday. >>> and just a few hours, occupy protesters will be outside chevron's refinery in richmond. it's a response to the massive fire at the refinery in august. protesters want safety improvements and reduced emissions. they plan to march to the refinery at 3:00 this afternoon. yesterday, the city council passed a resolution requiring chevron to use higher standards when rebuilding the crude unit that caused the fire. >>> more testimony is expected later today in oakland at the murder trial of jeselle esteban accused of killing hayward nursing student michelle ley last year and dumping her body. yesterday, defense lawyers said estaban
in the upper 70s in downtown san francisco. the overnight lows look kind of chilly. 49 in santa rosa. 50 in napa. when you go to school in hayward 56 tomorrow morning. kind of chilly as the kids head off to school. the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting a lot longer. 28 degrees cooler. that's where the fog came from. it came up from the south sort of southerly surge and that's why temperatures in the next couple of days are going to be trending down. 80s, 90s, 100s. we'll get you some low 80s in some hot spots but this low pressure center is the culprit. we're going to be living in this range the next couple of days except the coast we'll be living in the 50s because the fog is going to be a constant player. the forecast model lines up the fog tomorrow morning right there. more than that. i think little misty again be more fog along the beach then by the afternoon temperatures that's the high so those are 70s, those going all the way up so that cool moist air infiltrated the delta or will infiltrate the delta. temperatures in sacramento 70s. 83 in brentwood, 82 in liverm

and the forecast. los '60s through oakland in concord santa rosa is in the low 50s currently. there is a mix of '50s and '60s and then about noontime will see widespread '60s indicated by the cream color on your screen. we--green and through the evening it will be dropping to the '50s. lots of sunshine and plenty comfortable conditions. they're looking at mid '70s through concord at danville and pleasanton. mid-60's for downtown san francisco and 60 degrees for ocean beach. upper 60s and low '70's throughout the north bay. >>, said county health officials say more birds have tested positive for the west nile virus. six shares including a chicken was found in concord pleasant day and walnut creek. the chicken was part of flock in oakland. they say the heat wave caused the disease to spread more rapidly. people need to take more preventive measures to keep from being bitten by mosquitoes. also report dead birds because that is the first sign of west nile in a particular location. >> honda is expanding at its recall adding 20036 and pilot suvs. the 2002 through for model years for six and the pilot. t
, 103 in santa rosa, 96 in san jose. that actually tied a record yesterday for san jose. take a look at what happened today. look at san francisco, coming up on 20 degrees. 71 in san francisco today, down from 94 yesterday. so a big drop-off in temperatures. we're looking for temperatures to continue to trend down in the next few days. the reason for that is -- there's my hand. there's low pressure here and you can almost see how we pull this up. so it's pulling the fog back in along the coast. the fog is going to be a player now for the next couple of days. the low pressure center is going to linger offshore and that's going to enhance at times and maybe do away with at times the fog. it's going to be sort of this in-and-out thing with the fog in the next few days the. suffice it to say, we have a cooling pattern. shower and marine layer gives way to a fat marine layer and you'll see it over the hills. it will be much cooler in livermore valley and morgan hill tonight. when i come back, we'll get specific with the forecast highs for tomorrow and we'll talk about the five-day forecas
